The Monkman Project

In 2022, a small team had an idea for preserving history and embarking on a journey. This lead them to cultivate their dream, form a team, and make a documentary.

Our Mission

To educate humans all over Canada about Alex Monkmans vision and efforts in establishing a trade route between Grande Prairie and Prince George and what the route means to existing First Nations People.

As well as identifying the importance of preserving our natural wonders. If Monkman had succeeded what would the Monkman Pass look like now and what impacts would it have had on all levels of society in the Peace Region.

Currently it remains to be a hidden gem and rivals trails found in the Jasper and Banff National Parks.

Our Goal

To bring the Monkman Documentary to festivals around the world via streaming network. To show case the Monkman Pass not just to Canada but the entire world.

“By the 1920, Monkman Pass had been a First Nations travel route for some 300 years”
